Hi there,
I'm using Kutools for Outlook in order to deduplicate over 9K emails.
The tools works fine, but each dedup operations can only process 200/300 emails at once.
(operation being selecting the range of emails to scan, waiting for the filtering to process, then waiting for the deletion to process.) (~2min)

Is there any way to circumvent this limitation, so I can process all my 9K emails at once ?

We don't have a limitation on this deduplicate process.

Did you 1. select the messages first and then click the feature to delect duplicates, or 2. click the feature first, and then select a mail folder?

Tried both methods. Both results in partial selection of duplicates for processing.

Hi,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Since our feature works only for emails that are stored locally, could you please tell me what email protocol are you using? If it happens to be Exchange, it is important to note that typically not all 9,000 emails are stored locally.

Here is Peter.

I have the same problem: I want to delete more than 25000+ duplicates, but it only moves 200-300 messages at a time to the specified folder. I am using the latest version of Outlook, using IMAP protocol. Before the first attempt I had downloaded the messages using cache going back 5 years to the machine, failed the first time round, then subsequently now/then switched Outlook to OFFLINE mode to reduce the load on the network and the machine.

I then retrieved all the matches, sorted out the messages with 3+ duplicates (by changing the ticks) and then started the process by moving them to another folder - again.

Unfortunately, the result is the same: about 200-250 messages are sorted and the machine spins up to max, but the software itself is completely frozen.

I really ask for your support, because I feel: this software will be able to solve this horror job.

Thank you very much for your patience - I have installed the beta, but unfortunately I have not been able to test the "Advanced Scan and Remove Duplicate Emails" functionality in question, because my 30-day trial has unfortunately expired on earlier this month, and so I can no longer access it after the upgrade/reinstall.

I am summarizing my experience with the beta version linked above.

+ Thank you very much for improving the software with the beta version - now, last time, the software counted 21000+ duplicates, which it scanned without freezing, software errors or other problems - apparently - in the way I described earlier (downloading messages, enabling "work offline" mode, cleaning, re-enabling synchronization).

Some technical software problems that I would like to report to you:

+ performance issue - when displaying thousands of duplicates, the list movement is very, very stuttered when using the arrow keys to move between items (presumably the module is based on a graphics processor, so CPU usage is high in this case)
+ in some cases, the date field does not show the date the mail was sent, but some other property or parameter of the sender or the message
+ there was a case where messages with completely different dates were taken as duplicates (presumably because of their content) - here I of course reserve the possibility that I set the filters wrongly before the test...

Further feedback, suggestions for improvement:

+ It is very bad that messages cannot be sorted by column (e.g. by date of arrival), or
+ It would be very important for me to be able to sort the number of duplicates (currently shown in brackets at the beginning of the line) in a separate column (I looked through the messages with 3+ duplicates in parentheses and selected the items to keep)
+ My last feedback would be that I'm particularly annoyed that the search window is always in front of all windows, and that it can't be closed to the tray temporarily - is there a way to change this somewhere in the settings?

I hope that I have been able to help you with sufficient detail in testing the beta version of the software and that you can test it further with the above.
If there is a newer version with the above changes, please let me know, I will be happy to continue testing (there are still 55000+ duplicates left on the server...)
